Transitioning to college is a time of major change. Independence becomes your key to success—you have your own room and Mom and Dad aren’t there to check if you’ve done your homework anymore. But that doesn’t mean you’re completely on your own.

An application where you can find the goods or services you need and filtered based on school, the Dean’s List caters to a university-specific community. Users can conveniently find anything they might need, from a couch to a calculus tutor, all in one friendly package. Communication in the environment is familiar—we like texting more than we do writing emails.

T a r g e t A u d i e n c e

Anyone going into college or already in college can use this app. It is user friendly, touches upon a convenient method of texting, and uses Venmo, a highly popular method of payment, to complete monetary transactions.

R e v e n u e

Like most merchandising apps, revenue will mostly be generated on commission. eBay charges 8.75% for anything $0.01-50, so a reasonable commission charge that will help us against competitors would be anywhere from 5-7%. In addition, because the application does not only provide sales of goods but also services, we could charge a higher commission for services like tutoring because they are generally more expensive.
